Jet Lag & Motion Sickness




Jet Lag

Anyone who cross more than five time zones may suffer from Jet lag. It will cause symptoms such as insomnia, fatigue, malaise or nausea. The jet lag could be reduced with following steps.

Before Your Flight
- Get plenty of rest and follow a healthy diet and exercise routine.
- Adjust to the destination time zone in advance by starting the daily routine few hours before or after.

During You Flight
- Drink plenty of fluids(nonalcoholic) and eat light meals.
- Stretch your legs and move around the plane.
- Adjust sleeping hours on the plane to match the destination time zone.

On You Arrival
- Expose to the natural sunlight and adapt to local eating schedule as soon as possible.



Motion Sickness
Motion sickness is quite common with symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue and nausea. To cope with this sickness, frequently happened on the road, we could try some methods.

One simple method is to look out of the window to gaze toward the horizon in the same direction of the moving vehicle. If you are in a ship, on a train or on a plane where nap is possible, take one.

Another common suggestion is chewing gum or snack on sweets which will relieve the motion sickness.
Fresh, cool air is very helpful. However, if the air quality is not good, do not open the window, the foul odors will worsen nausea.
Another alternative is ginger, which helps a lot for some people.

For some people, they may try the last resort, medication. Antihistamines such as dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), promethazine (Phenergan) and meclizine (Antivert, Bonine) are usually the first choice for treating motion sickness.
