Methods to Access Your Money in China
How to Access Your Money in China:
A). For major cities and sizable towns, ATMs are conveniently available for you to withdraw cash. On the mainland, ATMs that accept international cards(Visa, MasterCard, Cirrus, Maestro, Plus and AmEx) include branches of the Bank of China and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, as well as large airports, top-end hotels and some large department stores.
B). Credit card cash advances is accessible in the main office of the Bank of China, even in remote places like Lhasa.
C). Travellers cheques are quite popular for foreign travellers as they will protect your money again lost or theft. However, be aware that they cannot be changed everywhere and anytime. It's advisable to change your travellers cheques at the airport. And remember to keep at least some of your exchange receipts as you may change your remaining back to its original currency when you leave. Some larger banks such as the Bank of China or CITIC Industrial Bank provide exchanging service for traveller cheques. But this service may not be available at the weekend.
